The picturesque beauty that embodies the islands of Okinawa has made it a special treasure in the hearts of many of its visitors.
Okinawa is truly a hidden paradise.
But not just for its white sanded beaches and clear blue oceans.
The Energy that circulates the island is one of kind.
Most people are often unaware that islands around the world contain certain energy vortices and each one is unique in its own way.
The energy of Okinawa is special because it represents the point of life and death...
Life has energy just as death holds its own form.
The energy of Life is a pulsating push, a vast never ending flow which nurtures and sustains growth.
The energy surrounding Death is a dense magnetic pull. Destructive but precise in its order and necessary to bring life to balance.
Whether we know it for ourselves, we work with these energies on a daily basis.
Okinawa is a spiritual and energetic portal for both life and death.
Which is why healing with Reiki Energy is more amplified within this setting than most places.
When you visit the nature of the island in a mindful state you can appreciate the current of life and death pushing and pulling you to a greater awareness.
Much like the tides of the ocean.
So just for today honor the energy of the island by letting it flow through you, and you will be brought to a deeper level of understanding and one step closer to a profound healing taking place within your mind, body and soul..

When we learn to accept that which has been given or bestowed upon us -
a soothing process of healing begins to unfold.
The act of acceptance involves a form of surrendering or letting go of old thought patterns and energetic fields.
When we accept a circumstance we surrender our need to control the outcome.
When we accept a person for all their shortcomings and faults - we relinquish our need to control or give judgement.
With acceptance comes understanding...
Reiki teaches us to accept everything we are given: both good and bad.
I recently had an experience with a client who had encountered a spiritual charlatan.
For those who unfamiliar with the term
I recommend visiting the link below:
They had a bad session with this individual which led to more stress and strain on the body.
Which ultimately led to their energy being drained by the priest or guru.
To make a long story short, after our Reiki session,
I offered the client a different perspective.
Any relationship we enter into is an exchange of energy.
The good ones confirm our loving nature and respect for ourselves and the bad ones challenge and teach us how to value our own self worth.
Accepting our roles in every relationship will allow for further healing on all sides of the spectrum.
Our disease or illness can also be a gift if we learn to accept what it has to teach us.
This can be quite a difficult task for one to accept something as terminal as cancer or a mental disorder to valuable teachers.
But if we have faith to put into practice our ability to accept our worst conditions then our energy in motion such as stress or self destruction, gently releases itself from our field.
So just for today Accept everything life brings you..
Even the negative circumstances since they also serve us on our journey towards healing.
The Fear of Reiki has been known to exist throughout the mainstream culture of Japan and Okinawa.
For some western Religious groups - Reiki is viewed as some kind of satanic ritual..
Most people cancel their session at the last minute due to other engagements or emergencies. However, some fail to follow through with attending their Reiki session because of something else entirely.
I have learned from admission of some of my clients that it is because of : FEAR.
What are they afraid of? I'd wonder..
Perhaps it's the ambiguity and misperceptions of Reiki in general, or maybe fear of judgement.
Or their rationale that the process doesn't work or is a waste of time..
If any of the above resonates with you, than I can assure you that fear of the unknown is understandable after all it is part of our instinctual nature to avoid what we don't understand.
Our logical mind cannot fathom the unseen. However whether or not one chooses to believe in Energy and its ability to convert, doesn't refrain it from naturally occurring.
Science proves that Energy is all around us and its convergence is happening on both a subatomic and cellular level.
However some are more keen and sensitive to the energy that is constantly circulating through all living things.
And that is what Reiki teaches, to be more mindful, more aware of what is happening within and around you.
To use your senses and take notice,
To be fully present in your journey towards healing, replenishing and maintaining balance....
So just for today, learn to acknowledge and understand what your fears are teaching you.
Also remember that fear comes in many forms but ultimately they are an obstacle or barrier that separates you from receiving your greatest gift:
Our emotions are a reflection of our thoughts which in turn affect our ability to function day - to - day
Perceived negative emotions can become a hinderance to our desire for health and abundance since we slowly find ourselves becoming more and more destructive.
If we feel sad, we quickly lose interest in being productive.
If we feel anger we close our minds to solutions.
If we feel jealous we begin to operate from a place of lack.
All of which ultimately leads to more stress on the mind and body.
Postive emotions such as happiness, excitement and love gives us motivation to experience a more fruitful life.
When we feel joyous we are more generous
When we feel excited we seek new challenges and open ourselves to different experiences.
When we feel love we can move through obstacles efficiently.
It is important to not be fearful of negative emotions, they can be beneficial in helping to warn us from danger.
And on the opposite coin,
Too much positive emotions can cause us to miss important details which can lead to negative outcomes.
The ideal state is: Balance
Reiki teaches that our Emotions are merely =Energy in Motion
and that we can learn from both sides.
Being introspective and not allowing our emotions to consume us is the aspiring goal.
So just for today, embrace your emotions.
Learn to take ownership of your Energy in motion and know that what you feel is simply temporary...
In our ancient past, symbolism has always been used to interpret hidden meaning.
There exists two special symbols that translates into a basic universal principle:
"All living things possess reiki."
For those who are not familiar to the Japanese language structure.
The Kanji characters play a vital role into understanding the meaning behind a word.
Awareness of the difference in symbols brings depth and clarity to the both practitioner and client.
Have you ever noticed the words for weather, sickness and wellness greeting in Japanese end in Ki?
This is not a coincidence..
It is because the Kanji 気 means energy or active life force.
Weather - tenki
Sickness - byouki
How are you? - Genki
All of the above words incorporate energy in some type of form.
The Kanji for Rei 霊 means spirit or soul.
Therefore Reiki is simply spirit energy or spirit life force.
Since all living things possess reiki, it is up to the healer to understand how to channel the energy effectively.
However, the goal of reiki is more than its symbolism.
It's a beautiful process of learning and appreciating the life force energy existing in living all things.
So just for today, learn more about the Reiki symbols and if you're out and about in the streets of Okinawa, ask a local politely - "Genki?" Nine times out of ten you'll get a smile in
With energy we are all participating in the continual exchange of giving and taking.
Since energy is constantly being transferred from one form to another,
the Art of Reiki is similar to our bodies ability to maintain homeostasis.
The digestion process is a perfect model of our inherit need of giving and taking.
For example when we consume a piece of fruit, that object has an energetic field around and within it.
As we take in the food source, it undergoes a chemical breakdown process.
Our bodies utilize enzymes to convert the material into fuel for our cells.
This activity occurs daily without our full awareness.
Which is why so many suffer from poor choices in diet, inevitably leading to indigestion and other maladies.
Therefore when we feel off balance we need to ask ourselves in which essence of giving or taking have we ignored or over indulged in?
Remember it takes energy to give energy.
Once a negative form of energy is present in the body, either through destructive entities like drug abuse, overeating, lack of sleep/exercise or stress - a break down often occurs.
Illness and pain serves as a reminder of how we can transmute our ailment or disease into something positive.
As a reiki practitioner I am able to channel the flow of Reiki to take the negative energy from the client and transmute it into positive energy in order to restore balance.
The results are usually a lighter feeling-most people fall asleep because they become at ease.
One final note for those who are interested in participating in this form of energetic healing or those who wish to master the art....
It takes a great deal of intimacy and trust for the practitioner but in return a space of unconditional love and reverence is given to the client.
Just for today acknowledge the vital importance of giving and taking.
